HOW WE WORK

The guys from Soundspores are hard at work

CROSSING BOUNDARIES:

Our goal is to cross the boundaries between sound design and music to create a unique coherent sonic world for the film or video game.

We love sounds that feel like music and music made from sounds.

BALANCE

In our collaboration, music and sounds don’t simply exist one next to the other - we strive for a synergetic relationship of both. We discuss a lot about whether sounds stay in the background and leave space for the music or vice versa. With the primary goal to serve the story and emotional impact of your film or video game.

IMMERSION THROUGH WELL THOUGHT-OUT IMPLEMENTATION:

Well-crafted music and sound is one important aspect but the best music and sound can sound crappy in a video game. You hear cuts, fades and bad loops. That’s why we focus on a good implementation of both. This means instead of looping the same piece over and over we use the right composing techniques to keep music fresh and new, instead of repetitive sounds that reveal that the player is playing a video game programmed by people. We take the time to alternate the sounds & loops to have the players feel like being in a different believable reality. Getting deeply immersed in the game is what we aim for and that is why we use middleware like FMOD to ensure the soundtrack reacts to the player’s input without the player taking note.

EXTENSIVE TESTING:

Finally, we test the games very extensively to see if they sounds feel plausible and authentic. This involves a lot of communication with the game designers.

PART OF YOUR TEAM:

We’re not hiding in our caves! We go out and actually talk with you guys and your feedback and ideas are very welcome. We’re no anonymous freelancers just delivering our work - we want to be part of your team!
